Dassault Systèmes Acquires AITAC

Dassault Systèmes, a French multinational software company that develops 3D design, 3D digital mock-up, and product lifecycle management (PLM) software, has become a 40% shareholder in AITAC d.o.o. for Marine and Offshore engineering.

On 1 June in Amsterdam, a sales agreement was signed whereby Dassault Systèmes (France) acquires full ownership of AITAC BV (The Netherlands) and their shares in AITAC d.o.o. (Croatia). Having Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, for a shareholder will further contribute to the achievement of AITAC d.o.o. mission and the creation of recognizable brand for the benefit of our clients.

AITAC Group has operated for over ten years as Expert Software partner to Dassault Systèmes in the field of PLM, and has provided support to clients using the 3DEXPEREINCE platform, especially in the shipbuilding and M&O industries.  AITAC’s team has developed a highly productive drafting software, based on Dassault Systèmes’ applications, named ASD (AITAC Smart Drawings). ASD automatically generates industry-standard compliant drawings from a master 3D model of a ship, platform or other structure. ASD is intended for Heavy Industries with large assemblies, such as Marine & Offshore, Shipbuilding, Civil Engineering, and offers significant efficiency gains to users. Dassault Systèmes will fully integrate the ASD into its “Designed for Sea” and “Optimized Production for Sea” industry solution experiences based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, used by companies for the design, validation and manufacture planning of marine and offshore projects.

“AITAC was always focused on designing and engineering our ships using Dassault Systèmes CATIA 3D design software, working passionately to pioneer and optimize its process. Today, having Dassault Systèmes on our board with us, we are opening a new interesting and challenging era. From now on we will be a high-tech software solution driven engineering company more than ever.

We are continuing to support our clients in the same manner; this acquisition will not influence our existing client relations; moreover, today we see ourselves as an even more reliable partner.” – said Marijan Lorencin, managing partner, AITAC d.o.o.

AITAC brings its long-term experience and knowledge of the Shipbuilding and Offshore industry to the 3DEXPERIENCE Shipbuilding and M&O PLM solution. The Dassault Systèmes Shipbuilding and M&O PLM solution helps companies in their strategic initiatives around the transformation of product development, manufacturing and enterprise collaboration processes. Using CATIA, ENOVIA and DELMIA software applications allows shipyards to integrate all processes and disciplines in all project phases, bringing efficiency, as well as better and faster design.

“For years, AITAC has been a software partner of Dassault Systèmes supporting its 3DEXPERIENCE platform customers and now we’re taking this long and fruitful partnership to the next level,”said Alain Houard, Vice President, Marine & Offshore Industry, Dassault Systèmes.  “AITAC’s long-term experience, expertise and team of naval architects and engineers will help us to extend our marine and offshore portfolio’s capabilities and support customer deployment projects.”

Dassault Systèmes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, provides businesses and people with virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovations. Their world-leading solutions transform the way products are designed, produced, and supported.
