Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer – Machinery & Piping to provide leadership and technical coordination for machinery and piping systems across complex projects in marine industry. The role covers full engineering lifecycle responsibility, from basic design through detailed engineering and project delivery.
 
Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification gained through relevant marine industry experience.
•    Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the marine industry in a relevant engineering role.
•    Proficiency in 2D/3D engineering software, with experience in at least one of the following: 3DEXPERIENCE, CADMATIC, AVEVA, Siemens NX
•    Fluent English (spoken and written); German, Dutch, or French is an advantage.
•    Experience in yacht design is highly valued.

Technical Scope and Responsibilities
•    Act as technical lead for machinery and piping coordination across projects.
•    Lead and supervise engineering teams of 5–15 engineers.
•    Review, approve, and ensure quality of all technical documentation.
•    Ensure alignment between basic and detailed engineering phases.
•    Serve as the primary technical interface toward clients and internal stakeholders.
•    Monitor engineering progress and ensure delivery within agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
•    Identify and communicate technical and integration risks; manage design changes and assess their impact.
•    Ensure timely delivery of all technical and project-related documentation.
•    Participate in project meetings, including meetings at client sites and shipyards.
•    Support structured knowledge transfer within the engineering team.
